Learn how to write a standard procedure for Cleaning of QC laboratory (Quality Control laboratory) in pharmaceuticals.
1. PURPOSE
The purpose of this procedure is to describe frequency and procedure for cleaning Quality Control Laboratory.
2. SCOP
This procedure is applicable for Quality Control laboratory cleaning of this pharmaceutical.
3. ASSOCIATED DOCUMENTS
SOP for preparation of disinfectant and cleaning solution.
4. PRECAUTIONS
4.1. Be careful not to get water into any lab instruments while cleaning.
4.2 Never use any cleaning material corrosive to floor and side walls.
4.3 Do not use any sharp tool to remove sticky or clogged materials.
4.4 Always use freshly prepared detergent and disinfectant solution.
4.5 Use non shedding clean duster.
4.6 Use gloves and mask.
4.7 Handle the reagent bottles and glass ware with care.

5. RESPONSIBILITIES
5.1 Cleaner is responsible for cleaning.
5.2 Executive. QC is responsible to ensure the cleaning.
5.3 Engineering personnel is responsible for cleaning of HVAC inlet-outlet and gas cylinder cubicle.

1. PROCEDURE
Clean according to Annexure-1 and Maintain a cleaning log sheet following Annexure-2, Annexure-3 and Annexure-4
7.1 Outer surface of Shelves and Table tops.
7.1.1 Take a clean duster; soak in water mop outer surface of the reagent bottles
7.1.2 Take another duster and soak with disinfectant solution
7.1.3 Mop outer surface of the shelves and table tops.
7.1.4 Rinse duster with fresh water to remove dust.
7.1.5 Repeat step 7.1.3 and 7.1.4
7.2 Sink
7.2.1 Take clean duster.
7.2.2 Rub the sink with powder detergent.
7.2.3 Wash with fresh water.
7.2.4 Mop with disinfectant solution.
7.2.5 Wash with fresh water.
7.2.6 Draw excess water from the tray with the help of clean duster.
7.3 Floor
7.3.1 Clip a clean duster with a mopping stick.
7.3.2 Soak mopping edge with disinfectant solution.
7.3.3 Mop side walls, windows and doors from top to bottom.
7.3.4 Mop floor from furthest comer to opening side.
7.3.5 Wash duster with running water.
7.3.6 Draw excess water by a vacuum cleaner.
7.4 Waste bin
7.4.1 Collect the waste from waste bin in a large container.
7.4.2 Clean the waste bin with a wet duster.
7.5 Drawers and cupboards
7.5.1 Clean outer surface with clean dry duster.
7.5.2 Transfer all articles from drawers/cupboards to a suitable place.
7.5.3 Clean all articles with the help of duster or vacuum cleaner to ensure them visually free from
dirt.
7.5.4 Clean inner surface of drawers & cupboards by rubbing with a nylon brush and then draw
with a vacuum cleaner.
7.5.5 Arrange all articles properly.
7.6 Hoods
7.6.1 Take a duster and soak with water.
7.6.2 Clean hood.
7.6.3 Rinse the duster with running water.
7.6.4 Mop the hood with detergent solution.
7.6.5 Draw excess water by vacuum cleaner.
7.7 Ceiling & light shade, Gas cylinder cubicle & HVAC inlet-outlet
7.7.1 Clean the light shade, HVAC inlet-outlet and gas cylinder cubicle by engineering dept.
7.7.2 Rub the ceiling with a clean nylon brush to remove dirt/dust. 7.7.3 Collect all dust with a vacuum cleaner.
